Tim is responsible for overseeing HJ Sims’s municipal bond investment strategies, credit research, and monitoring institutional sales and trading for potential trade opportunities at both the institutional and retail level. He also authors the firm’s weekly “Curve Commentary,” providing timely insights into market trends, and reviews credits acquired by the trading desk for suitability and inventory. 

Prior to joining HJ Sims, Tim served as the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Aquila Tax-Free Trust of Oregon (ORTYX) and the Aquila Tax-Free Fund of Colorado (COTFX), and as Portfolio Manager for the Aquila Tax-Free Fund for Utah (UTAHX). He was also responsible for managing a diverse set of separately managed accounts on behalf of high net worth individuals and institutions.

Earlier in his career, Tim spent more than a decade as a public finance investment banker, where he structured financings and advised local governments and not-for-profit institutions on the debt markets.
