Gayl Mileszko joined HJ Sims in 2011 as a Senior Vice President and serves as the Director of Credit Analysis.
She supports our trading, sales and banking teams by providing data, insight, reviews and assessments, and works closely with our high yield desks to optimize trading decisions. Gayl has penned the weekly market commentary for our banking and private wealth clients for the past eleven years, offering an insight that is based on more than 25 years of fixed income experience. Most recently, she co-managed the Sims High Income Portfolio, LP., and served as the chief analyst, chief operating officer and co-founder of Braintree Capital Partners, the investment advisory firm we acquired and recently integrated into HJ Sims Capital Management.
Gayl began her financial services career in public finance at Tucker Anthony, a regional broker dealer, where she handled day-to-day banking and financial advisory engagements for a number of major issuers in the Northeast and Midwest. She later became the chief of staff and principal business adviser to four successive fixed income division managers responsible for the firm’s trading, sales and banking activities.
Her background also includes more than a decade of experience in senior government roles. She served in the cabinet of Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, in his executive office as chief of staff for legislative affairs and as director of public affairs, and on the board of the Massachusetts Health and Educational Facilities Authority, at the time one of the nation’s largest issuers of revenue bonds. Gayl began her career in Washington on the staff of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee and its then Ranking Member, Silvio O. Conte of Massachusetts.
She earned her B.A. from Yale College in political science with an interdisciplinary concentration in international relations. A native of Massachusetts, she currently resides in Florida and is based in our Boca Raton office.
