“Those who serve others will always be rewarded.”
A Senior Associate in our Rockville, Maryland office, Brady Richardson has a background in public finance working with real estate companies and high-yield projects, as well as Tax Increment Financing transactions.
Brady earned a bachelor degree in international business and finance at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he participated in lacrosse, economics club, global investments club, Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and Alpha Lambda Honor Society. Brady studied in Spain his junior year, where he soaked in the culture and sharpened his Spanish language skills.
Upon graduation, Brady joined Wells Fargo Securities in the capital markets office, where he assisted with the booking and managing of various derivatives products. In this role, Brady was exposed to formal credit and M&A training.
Brady transitioned to T. Rowe Price, where he served as a Financial Analyst in corporate strategy, helping the organization achieve significant cost savings through the implementation of strategic initiatives and artificial intelligence.
Brady also served as a co-writer on the analysis of assessments in Fulton County, Georgia, and the greater Atlanta area. He examined the disparity between residential and commercial properties. The report of his findings was subsequently published in the local media. This analysis was the unofficial start to Brady’s career in Public Finance.
Originally, Brady was interested in becoming a radio frequency engineer, following his father’s footsteps into engineering. However, he had a proclivity for numbers and spreadsheets, and was inspired by his college professor, Dr. Mary Lesser. As well, Brady was influenced by the book Learn to Earn, written by Peter Lynch and John Rothchild. Dr. Lesser, the book and a lifelong interest in investing and real estate sparked Brady’s interest in investment banking.
Brady was drawn to HJ Sims because of his interest in investment banking, and his experience with several senior family members who were placed in skilled nursing and hospice care settings. Overall, Brady is driven by his interest in helping people, which aligns with HJ Sims’ mission-driven senior living clients.
Drawn to activities that involve adrenaline, Brady has enjoyed professional bull riding, hang gliding and skiing—he has skied the Swiss Alps and one of the toughest trails in the world, Corbett’s Couloir in Jackson Hole. Brady is an active volunteer firefighter and loves to fly fish. Brady also spends his time volunteering as a mentor at SCORE, helping assign grants to start-up companies and projects.
Brady was born and raised in Westminster, Maryland. Brady’s family lives nearby and he enjoys spending quality time with his parents, sister, niece and nephew.
